Unless stated otherwise all courses are bilingual meaning that all the instructions are given entirely in both French and English.

The 400-hour Swedish Massage Therapy Training at Académie Om is designed to help students develop the knowledge, practical skills, confidence, and professional experience required to begin a rewarding career in massage therapy.

The program combines three complementary learning components:

• 200 hours of theoretical studies

• 150 hours of hands-on training

• 50 hours of clinical practicum and mentorship

This balanced structure allows students to build a strong foundation, develop practical competence, and gradually transition into working with real clients.

1) THEORETICAL STUDIES - 200 Hours
Completed at Home

The theoretical portion of the program is completed through flexible, self-paced home study using guided learning materials and required readings.

Students may begin studying as soon as they register, allowing them to get a head start before the practical classes begin. Throughout the program, instructors remain available to answer questions, clarify concepts, and support students in their learning.

The theoretical curriculum includes:

• Ethics and Professionalism

• Client Counselling

• Sexuality

• Communication and Client Assessment

• Career Planning and Professional Practice Development

• Anatomy and Physiology for Massage Therapists

• Pathology

• Massage Contraindications

These subjects provide the professional, scientific, and interpersonal knowledge required to practise massage therapy safely and confidently.

2) HANDS-ON TRAINING - 150h

The practical portion of the program includes 11 in-person classes taught in small groups.

This format allows students to benefit from personalized instruction, direct feedback, and close supervision from experienced instructors.

Skills are introduced progressively so that each class builds naturally on the material previously learned.

Students develop practical abilities in:

• Swedish massage techniques

• proper body mechanics

• treatment rhythm and flow

• professional draping

• client positioning and bolstering

• pressure application

• communication during treatment

• client safety

• and professional standards of practice

Weekly readings and home-practice assignments help reinforce the techniques taught in class and allow students to continue developing between training days.

3) CLINICAL PRACTICUM & MEMTORSHIP - 50h

The clinical practicum helps students make the transition from classroom learning to professional practice.

Students complete 30 hours of hands-on massage treatments, ideally within the professional clinics at Vibrations Om, where they gain valuable experience working with real clients in a supervised environment.

Students who are unable to complete their practicum at Vibrations Om may also complete it independently using the school’s official practicum documentation.

The remaining practicum hours recognize the professional activities that accompany massage therapy practice, including:

• client intake

• health-history review

• assessment

• treatment planning

• documentation

• home-care recommendations

• post-treatment follow-up

• and personalized mentorship

Mentorship

Each student receives two individual mentorship sessions with an experienced instructor: one before beginning the practicum and one near the end of the program.

These sessions help students prepare for real client interactions, receive individualized feedback, strengthen their clinical skills, and build professional confidence before graduation.

A Flexible and Supportive Learning Experience

The program is designed to be comprehensive while remaining accessible to students balancing work, family, and personal responsibilities.

The combination of self-paced theory, small-group practical instruction, flexible practicum scheduling, and individual mentorship creates a supportive learning experience from registration through graduation.

By the end of the program, graduates are expected to possess the theoretical knowledge, hands-on skills, professional judgment, and confidence required to begin practising safely and successfully as massage therapists.

The goal is not simply to complete 400 hours of training. It is to become a capable, ethical, and confident professional prepared to build a meaningful career in massage therapy.

For the 400h Training
Tuition is $3,300 in three Installments:

• $1,100 (Upon registration)

• $1,100 (At the 5th of the 10 classes)

• $1,100 (At the 9th of the 10 classes)
  

Académie Om courses are non taxable.

For the 1000h Training
You will be signed on to 10 monthly payments of $800. You can complete the 1000h at your own pace.

The 10 monthly installments are automatically programmed at time of registration and are taken on your credit card.

Massage Therapist (400h)
This diploma allows you to register with professional associations such as RMPQ, AMQ, RMQ, or RITMA to issue insurance receipts for your clients.

Advanced Massage Therapist (1000h)
You will get an individual diploma for each of the 10 courses as well as a global 1000-hour Advanced Massage Therapist diploma.

Materials are available for purchase on location on the first day of training or through our online store:

• Course manual produced by Vibrations Om (can be purchased in advance if you would like to get a head start on the readings) ($80)

• 4L of massage gel ($72) + large gel pump ($7)

• 1 oil holster with bottle ($20)

• 1 set of superior quality sheets ($62)

• 2 hand towels ($4/ea)

• Estimated cost for manual and all materials: $249 + taxes

Refund Policy
In case of cancellation a $100 administrative fee will be charged plus the prorated amount based on the number of in-person sessions attended.

Example: If you attended 3 sessions out of 10 you would owe 30% of the total amount + $100.

These administrative fees help cover the high transaction costs and account for the fact that your reserved spot prevented others from registering. This policy ensures fairness for all participants.

Since spots are limited, we kindly ask that you notify us as early as possible so we can offer your place to someone else.

Absenteeism Policy
Up to 1 absence is allowed without consequences. Beyond that, a 90 minute private session ($100/h) per missed day of training is required to validate your certification.

Enforcing a policy of no more than one missed day of class ensures that you are legitimately qualified to offer the services on your diploma.

Places are limited to 10 students per session and they fill up quickly so do not delay in registering to ensure the courses of your choice.
