400h Swedish Massage Training
Get Certified. Start Your Career.
Turn your interest in massage into the skills, confidence, and professional training needed to begin a rewarding career as a massage therapist.
Académie Om’s 400-hour Swedish Massage Therapist Training provides a comprehensive foundation in professional massage therapy through a balanced combination of theoretical study, hands-on training, clinical practicum, and individualized mentorship.
Our personalized approach and small class sizes — limited to 10 students — allow experienced instructors to provide close guidance, practical feedback, and high-quality support throughout your training.
The flexible hybrid format combines theory completed from home, in-person practical classes at our Saint-Laurent training centre, and a clinical internship that can be scheduled at our Saint-Laurent and/or Pointe-Claire clinics.
By graduation, our goal is not simply for you to have completed 400 hours. We want you to feel competent, ethical, confident, and genuinely prepared to work with clients.

Why Train at Académie Om?
Small Classes. Personalized Instruction.
Our massage therapy groups are limited to 10 students, allowing instructors to closely observe your techniques, correct your body mechanics, answer questions, and provide individualized guidance.
Massage cannot be learned simply by reading a manual or watching demonstrations. Developing good touch, rhythm, pressure, positioning, draping, transitions, and professional confidence requires practice and feedback.
Our small-group model allows us to provide that support throughout the program.
Flexible Hybrid Learning
The program is designed to accommodate students balancing work, family, and other responsibilities.
Theory is completed independently from home, while practical skills are developed through structured in-person training.
Students may begin studying immediately after registration, allowing them to get a head start before their first practical class.
Real Clinical Experience
Your training does not end in the classroom.
Through the clinical practicum, you gain experience working with real clients and learn how to manage the complete therapeutic experience — from intake and assessment to treatment, documentation, recommendations, and follow-up.
Individual Mentorship
Every student receives two individual mentorship sessions with an experienced instructor.
These sessions provide an opportunity to receive personalized feedback, ask questions, refine your clinical approach, and build confidence as you transition from student to professional therapist.
Program Structure & Hours
1. Theoretical Studies — 200 Hours
Completed From Home
The theoretical component is completed through flexible, self-paced study using Académie Om's professional training manuals, guided readings, assignments, and evaluations.
You may begin studying as soon as you register.
Throughout the program, instructors remain available to answer questions and clarify concepts.
Theoretical Curriculum
Ethics & Professionalism
Client Counselling
Sexuality
Communication & Client Assessment
Treatment Principles and Clinical Application
Anatomy & Physiology for Massage Therapists
Pathology & Massage Contraindications
Career Planning & Professional Practice Development
These subjects provide the scientific, ethical, interpersonal, and professional knowledge required to practise massage therapy safely and confidently.
2. Hands-On Training — 150 Hours
Practical training takes place in person at our Saint-Laurent training centre.
📍 Académie Om
2075 rue de l'Église, Saint-Laurent, QC
Skills are introduced progressively so that each stage of the program builds naturally upon the previous one.
Students learn and practise:
Treatment Principles and Clinical Application
Swedish massage techniques
These hours include weekly readings and home-practice assignments that reinforce the content taught in class and allow students to continue developing their skills between training days.
3. Clinical Practicum & Mentorship — 50 Hours
The clinical practicum bridges the gap between learning massage and actually becoming a massage therapist. Students complete 25 hours of hands-on massage treatments, ideally within the professional clinics at Vibrations Om.
Internship Locations
Students may complete their internship at:
📍 Vibrations Om Décarie
847 boul. Décarie, Saint-Laurent, QC
or
📍 Vibrations Om Pointe-Claire
46 ave. Sainte-Anne, Pointe-Claire, QC
Internship scheduling is arranged at your own pace according to your availability.
Students who are unable to complete their practicum at Vibrations Om may also complete an approved external practicum using Académie Om's official internship documentation and requirements. A final evaluation incurring a $100 fee is required for students who complete their practicum outside.
Practicum Activities
The remaining clinical hours recognize the professional responsibilities surrounding each treatment, including:
Client intake
Health-history review
Assessment
Treatment planning
Preparation and cleanup
Documentation
Home-care recommendations
Post-treatment follow-up
Mentorship
Individual Mentorship
Students who take on their Internship at Vibrations Om receive two free individual mentorship sessions during the program.
First Mentorship
Completed before or near the beginning of the clinical practicum.
The instructor helps ensure that the student is prepared to begin working with real clients safely and professionally.
Second Mentorship
Completed toward the end of the program.
This session allows the instructor to review the student's progress, provide individualized feedback, address areas that need refinement, and help prepare the student for independent professional practice.
Diploma Awarded
Upon successful completion of all program requirements, students receive:
Massage Therapist Diploma — 400 Hours
Graduates are pre-approved to apply for membership with any of these professional massage therapy associations:
RMPQ
AMQ
RITMA
RMQ
Once accepted by the professional association of their choice, eligible therapists may issue massage therapy insurance receipts to their clients according to that association's requirements.
Continue to 1,000 Hours

The advanced curriculum builds upon the 400-hour foundation with specialized massage therapy courses.

Tuition
400h Massage Therapist Training
Total Tuition: $3,300
Paid in four installments of $825
$825 upon registration
Then 3 more monthly installments of $825
Académie Om professional training courses are non-taxable.
Required Materials
Students require the following materials for training:
Académie Om course manual — $80
4L massage gel — $72
Large gel pump — $7
Oil holster with bottle — $20
Professional-quality sheet set — $62
Two hand towels — $4 each
Estimated total for manual and materials: $249 + taxes
Materials may be purchased at Académie Om on the first day of training or through our online store.
Students who would like to begin their readings in advance are encouraged to purchase the manual before the course begins.
Attendance Policy
Regular attendance is essential because hands-on massage skills require supervised practice and cannot be fully replaced through independent study.
Students may miss one practical training day without consequence.
For additional missed training days, a private make-up session is required to validate the training and ensure that all necessary practical competencies have been covered.
Private make-up sessions are:
90 minutes per missed training day
$100/hour
This policy helps ensure that every graduate receiving an Académie Om diploma has completed the practical training required to practise safely and professionally.
Refund Policy
If you decide to withdraw from the program, a $100 administrative fee applies, in addition to the prorated tuition corresponding to the practical training already attended.
Example
If you have attended 30% of the practical training when you withdraw, you would be responsible for:
30% of the program tuition + $100 administrative fee
Because each group is limited to only 10 students, registration reserves a place that can no longer be offered to another student once the training has begun.
We therefore ask students to inform us as early as possible if they are unable to participate.

New training groups begin approximately every three months throughout the year.
Places are limited to only 10 students per group, and certain schedules fill quickly.
