Therapeutic Massage Training

This advanced course is designed for massage therapists who want to expand their therapeutic skill set and refine their ability to work with specific musculoskeletal conditions such as tendinitis, bursitis, sciatica, neck tension, chronic back pain, migraines, and more.

Through the study of real-life case scenarios, participants learn how to assess client needs, understand contributing factors and underlying patterns, and adapt their techniques to provide safe, precise, and effective treatments. The emphasis is on developing clear treatment protocols, strengthening clinical reasoning, and learning how to personalize each session according to the client’s condition and presentation.

To complement the practical and clinical components of the course, students are encouraged to complete independent pathology reading at home using Massage Therapist’s Guide to Pathology by Ruth Werner (7th edition). This recommended reading helps reinforce the recognition of common signs and symptoms, massage indications and contraindications, appropriate treatment adaptations, and situations in which referral to or collaboration with another healthcare professional may be appropriate.

By the end of the course, therapists will be better equipped to approach more complex client conditions with confidence, sound clinical judgment, and professionalism.

Language
Whenever all participants share a common language, the course will be taught in that language. Otherwise, the course will be offered bilingually in English and French.

Prerequisites and Diploma Eligibility
Our Continuing Education courses are open to anyone who already hold a 400-hour yoga teacher certification or anyone in the process of completing it. Without it, a special exception may be granted on a case per case basis if you have a specific situation that would warrant it.

Attendance Policy
Regular attendance is essential because much of the learning is experiential and cannot be fully replaced through independent study. One absence for valid reasons may be accommodated. However, students who miss essential teachings or multiple sessions may be required to complete one or more private make-up sessions at a rate of $100 per hour before their diploma can be issued. Please contact us as early as possible if you anticipate missing any portion of your course.

Refund Policy
In the event of withdrawal, a $100 administrative fee will apply, in addition to the prorated tuition corresponding to the portion of the in-person course that has already taken place. For example, if a student withdraws after completing one of four scheduled sessions, 25% of the total tuition will remain payable, in addition to the $100 administrative fee. These fees help cover transaction and administrative costs and recognize that a reserved place may have prevented another student from enrolling. This policy allows us to treat all participants fairly.
