Traditional Ayurvedic Warm Oil Full Body Massage + Ayurvedic Head Massage + Ayurvedic Foot Massage

This comprehensive Ayurvedic massage course introduces students to three complementary techniques taught together as one complete training: full-body Abhyanga massage, Shiro Abhyanga head massage, and Pada Abhyanga foot massage.

Rooted in traditional Indian medicine, the course explores the principles of Ayurvedic bodywork and the use of warm oils to create deeply relaxing, flowing, and restorative treatments. Students will learn how rhythm, pressure, pace, and oil selection may be adapted according to Ayurvedic principles and the client’s individual needs.

Full-Body Abhyanga Massage

Students begin by learning the traditional full-body Abhyanga sequence, characterized by warm oil, rhythmic strokes, flowing movements, and attentive, continuous contact. Emphasis is placed on proper technique, therapist body mechanics, treatment flow, and creating a calm, meditative experience for the client.

Shiro Abhyanga — Indian Head Massage

The training also includes Shiro Abhyanga, a traditional Ayurvedic approach to massage of the scalp, head, neck, and shoulders. Students learn techniques designed to promote deep relaxation, relieve muscular tension, and complement the full-body Abhyanga treatment.

Pada Abhyanga — Indian Foot Massage

Students will also learn Pada Abhyanga, the traditional Ayurvedic massage of the feet and lower legs. This grounding practice uses warm oil and focused massage techniques and can be incorporated into a complete Abhyanga session or offered as a complementary treatment.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to integrate full-body Abhyanga, Indian head massage, and Indian foot massage into one cohesive Ayurvedic treatment, while also understanding how each technique can be adapted and used independently when appropriate.
