This course introduces massage therapists and bodywork practitioners to the principles and techniques of Maderotherapy (Wood Therapy), a specialized form of manual bodywork that uses anatomically shaped wooden tools to complement hands-on massage techniques.

Maderotherapy combines rhythmic, repetitive movements with a variety of wooden instruments designed to work efficiently over different areas and contours of the body. The training emphasizes the proper selection and handling of each tool, appropriate pressure and sequencing, and the integration of wood therapy techniques into a safe, comfortable, and professional treatment.

Participants will develop a practical understanding of how Maderotherapy can be incorporated into massage and body-contouring treatments, with particular attention to circulation, tissue mobilization, relaxation, and the temporary improvement of the appearance and texture of the skin.

The course combines theoretical foundations with extensive hands-on practice, allowing participants to develop confidence, precision, fluidity, and proper body mechanics when working with Maderotherapy tools.

Participants will:

  • Learn the foundations and principles of Maderotherapy

  • Become familiar with the different wooden tools, their shapes, functions, and appropriate applications

  • Learn proper handling, pressure, rhythm, direction, and sequencing of techniques

  • Develop practical protocols for working with different areas of the body

  • Learn techniques commonly incorporated into body-contouring and cellulite-focused treatments

  • Explore techniques designed to support circulation and tissue mobilization

  • Understand the indications, precautions, and contraindications associated with Maderotherapy

  • Learn how to combine wooden tools with manual massage techniques to create a complete and fluid treatment

  • Develop efficient body mechanics to reduce unnecessary strain on the therapist

  • Learn appropriate cleaning, hygiene, and maintenance procedures for Maderotherapy equipment

  • Adapt treatments according to the client's comfort, goals, tissue response, and individual needs

This training provides practitioners with a solid foundation for incorporating Maderotherapy into their professional practice, whether as a specialized treatment on its own or as a complement to massage and other bodywork techniques.

By the end of the course, participants will have developed the practical skills and treatment structure necessary to confidently offer a professional, safe, and effective Maderotherapy session to their clients.

Language
Whenever all participants share a common language, the course will be taught in that language. Otherwise, the course will be offered bilingually in English and French.

Prerequisites and Diploma Eligibility
Our Continuing Education courses are open to anyone who already hold a 400-hour yoga teacher certification or anyone in the process of completing it. Without it, a special exception may be granted on a case per case basis if you have a specific situation that would warrant it.

Attendance Policy
Regular attendance is essential because much of the learning is experiential and cannot be fully replaced through independent study. One absence for valid reasons may be accommodated. However, students who miss essential teachings or multiple sessions may be required to complete one or more private make-up sessions at a rate of $100 per hour before their diploma can be issued. Please contact us as early as possible if you anticipate missing any portion of your course.

Refund Policy
In the event of withdrawal, a $100 administrative fee will apply, in addition to the prorated tuition corresponding to the portion of the in-person course that has already taken place. For example, if a student withdraws after completing one of four scheduled sessions, 25% of the total tuition will remain payable, in addition to the $100 administrative fee. These fees help cover transaction and administrative costs and recognize that a reserved place may have prevented another student from enrolling. This policy allows us to treat all participants fairly.
