Therapeutic Massage Training and Pathology Review
Part 1: Therapeutic Massage for Specific Conditions
This advanced course is designed for massage therapists who want to expand their therapeutic skill set and refine their ability to work with specific musculoskeletal conditions such as tendinitis, bursitis, sciatica, neck tension, chronic back pain, migraines, and more.
Through the study of real-life case scenarios, participants learn how to assess client needs, understand underlying patterns, and adapt their techniques to offer precise and effective treatments. The focus is on developing clear treatment protocols, improving clinical reasoning, and ensuring safe, personalized care for each client.
By the end of the course, therapists will be better equipped to address complex conditions with confidence and professionalism.
Part 2: Pathology Review for Massage Therapists
This essential theoretical course supports massage therapists in deepening their knowledge of common pathologies and medical conditions encountered in practice. Using Massage Therapist’s Guide to Pathology by Ruth Werner (7th edition) as a core text, participants engage in self-directed study to strengthen their critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
Students will learn to recognize signs and symptoms, evaluate massage indications and contraindications, and adapt treatments safely and effectively. The course also highlights when referral or collaboration with other healthcare professionals is appropriate.
Flexible and designed for home study, this module allows therapists to progress at their own pace while developing a solid foundation of clinical understanding and professional judgment.
