Lymphatic Drainage Massage Training

This course introduces massage therapists to the principles and techniques of Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) using the scientifically grounded method developed by Dr. Albert Leduc. Rooted in the foundational work of Dr. Emil Vodder, and informed by advancements from Michael Földi, Dr. Leduc’s approach brings a more modern and evidence-based evolution to MLD. His method integrates a deep understanding of lymphatic physiology with both manual and mechanical stimulation techniques, making it one of the most clinically advanced and widely practiced approaches to MLD in Canada and Europe.

Compared to the original Vodder method—which pioneered the concept of gentle rhythmic lymphatic massage—the Leduc method places greater emphasis on clinical precision, pathophysiological rationale, and adaptability to medical contexts, including post-surgical care and lymphedema management. It also introduces innovative techniques such as lymphatic facilitation through movement and sequential pressure, enhancing the therapeutic outcomes.

Participants will:

  • Learn the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system

  • Understand the indications and contraindications of MLD

  • Master practical application protocols for various regions of the body

  • Develop precision in pressure, rhythm, and direction of touch

  • Explore the use of mechanical lymphatic stimulation as a complement to manual techniques

This training equips therapists to safely and effectively integrate MLD into their practice, supporting clients dealing with lymphatic congestion, inflammation, edema, immune dysfunction, or post-operative recovery. Whether you aim to enhance your therapeutic toolkit or support clients with specific lymphatic health needs, this course offers both a solid foundation and a refined clinical edge.
