Lomi-Lomi Training

Ancentral Hawaiian Massage

Lomi Lomi Nui is a form of massage originating from the Hawaiian Islands, primarily Kauaʻi and Maui. Rooted in traditional Hawaiian practices, it is distinguished by its fluidity, gentleness, and depth.

Both enveloping and therapeutic, this massage is characterized by long, continuous movements applied to several areas of the body at once. These flowing strokes create a rocking sensation reminiscent of the rhythm of the ocean. The body relaxes, the mind quiets, and energy is invited to move more freely.

In the practice of Lomi Lomi Nui, we learn to listen — to ourselves, to the body, and to the present moment. Touch is guided by presence, intention, and deep respect for the person receiving the massage.

The continuous flow of movements supports the well-being of both the client and the massage therapist, fostering a practice that is fluid, grounded, and sustainable.

Lomi Lomi Nui is a deep, intuitive, and transformational practice.

It is closely linked to Huna, the traditional Hawaiian philosophy that invites harmony between the soul, body, heart, and spirit.

The training includes learning a wide range of techniques using the forearms, as well as simple exercises to cultivate sensitivity, presence, and awareness of movement.

Ka‘aleleau, the dance unique to Lomi Lomi Nui (often referred to as “flying”), supports the fluidity and continuity of the gestures, which are essential to this style of massage.

If you feel the call to explore this approach to touch, this training is an invitation to walk a path through the body, movement, and presence.

Aloha.
