AYURVEDA
Ayurveda is the traditional medicine of India. Ayurvedic consultations allow you to find the imbalances in your constitutions (Dosha) and to restore harmony through adequate nutrition. Ayurvedic Consultation
(Insurance receipt in naturopathy). Ayurvedic consultation is a holistic assessment of your state of wellness, where you will learn about your Dosha (unique mind-body constitution) and whether these doshas are in balance or out of balance.
Abhyanga
Abhyanga is a form of Ayurvedic massage that involves massaging the entire body from head to toe with hot oil. specially recommended to soothe the nervous system and help reduce stress, fatigue and emotional blockages.
Chakra Balancing
Ayurvedic tradition recognizes seven main chakras, which link the various levels of our being: our physical, energetic, mental, emotional, and spiritual selves. When we focus on the chakras, we can connect to these aspects and move toward balance, health, and well-being. Chakra balancing uses techniques that help clients focus and connect to their chakras. The session starts with a back massage to remove blockages allowing energy to flow freely up the spine where the sushumna (main energy channel) and the chakras are located. The treatment continues with an Ayurvedic head massage without oil or with the use of Ayurvedic oils as per your preference. The treatment then continues with polarity technique to harmonize the energy in each of the 7 chakras and to bring balance to these centres moving from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. The session finishes with activation of additional marma points (energy centres) using acupressure techniques.
Marma Points
Ayurvedic Acupressure
This 2-part massage begins with a Polarity treatment designed to balance the subtle body and open up the energetic pathways. It then continues with Marma Point Therapy, a healing art originating in the Ayurvedic traditions of ancient India. There are 108 main Marma points throughout the body. Each point has its own intelligence and consciousness, which coordinate with the mind and body. This ancient form of treatment dating back to between 1500 — 1200 BCE involves using the fingers to stimulate the Marma points thereby promoting physical and mental rehabilitation. As with Acupuncture, these points correspond to internal organs and systems of the body which react to manual stimulation. Marma balances the flow of energy that circulates through the body in specific channels called Nadis.
Contraindications: Refrain from consuming alcohol or caffeine 24 hours prior to the treatment. Not recommended during a woman's menstrual cycle.
Indian Head Massage
A deep massage using a variety of pressure and movements. Contributes to the relief of tension in the neck, the shoulders and the head, and may improve the quality of your sleep, the quality of your hair, and encourage relaxation of the body and mind. (Naturopathy Receipts)
Shirodhara
Shirodhara is a holistic treatment wherein warm oil is poured in single stream over the forehead for a prolonged amount of time. This soothing therapy helps to relieve stress, anxiety, encourages rejuvenation, helps prevent premature greying of hair, and ultimately strengthens the mind, body and sensory organs of the individual.
