EnergyVinyasa (Flow)
Vinyasa or Flow classes offer a fast and fluid sequence of postures, in synchronization with the breath. They leave room for the creativity of each teacher to vary the sequences from one class to the next. Other variations include Slow Flow (slower pace), Core Flow (with emphasis on the core muscles), Gentle Flow (selection of more accessible postures), Power Flow (a little spicier) and Hot Flow (in a well-heated room). Ashtanga Ashtanga yoga is one of the most stimulating and demanding forms of yoga practice, based on a specific series of postures synchronized with the breath. This practice is at the origin of the Vinyasa Flow style. |
BalanceHatha
Traditional yoga, also called Hatha Yoga, aims for the perfect balance between effort (HA) and rest (THA). Classes typically include breathing techniques, Sun Salutations, sustained yoga postures, and a final relaxation. The body stretches and strengthens and the mind calms to the rhythm of traditional postures selected for their therapeutic benefits. Gentle • Sivananda • Padma Other variations include Gentle Yoga (Hatha without inversions), Sivananda Yoga (Hatha following a specific sequence), Padma Sadhana (Hatha with breathing and meditation), Hatha Flow (mix of Flow and Hatha), and Hatha Yin (mix of Hatha and Yin). |
CalmYin Yoga
Yin Yoga targets connective tissues, which are much less stimulated in more active styles. Through deep stretches held on the floor for 5 to 8 minutes in a calm and meditative atmosphere, the body relaxes, tensions dissolve, and the mind calms down. Restorative Yoga Restorative Yoga is a gentle, therapeutic style of yoga that uses props to support the body in still, restful positions. This practice focuses on restoring the nervous system. Restorative yoga is a calming and comforting practice that focuses on the effects of intentional relaxation. Props are used for optimal comfort. |
